The tattoo you're talking about is probably The Cathedrals:



Theres also another meaning for it. It means that your body is your church, temple, etc. U'll never let anyone desecrate it. Also it was an anti-authority and anti government kinda tattoo, because the soviets did away with religion and all that, so these guys would tattoo churches, saints, jesus, crosses, whole biblical scenes as a "grin" at the administration. Kinda like giving them the finger.

But youre right, the number of cuppolas can mean the number of convictions or yesr in prison.
