Instead of getting on the hate-train and playing devils advocate a bit.
- People frequently want track IDs/track-lists : this generates them on the fly
- Helps give exposure to new artists that are getting their promo's played
- Helps give credit to the people who produce the tracks - DJs tend to get all the attention, but DJ's wouldnt exist if it wasnt for people producing the tracks
- Easy way to discover new producers - flip through a twitter-feed from a set, hear a song you like - search it on the net, find more stuff by that artist, more info about that label.
When I was first getting into electronic-music, I'd usually only download sets that had track-lists, and then I'd pick through the track listing to find out more about the producers/labels/etc and really opened up my world to electronic music, it acted as a jumping point for me to go and explore more on my own - but getting pointed in the right direction first.
