what does the future hold for minimal?

Post by stevësto »

the next big thing in minimal!!! ...

seriously though,

At WMC this year, one thing was made clear, minimal techno/tech house is the only thing in the world that matters right now. It dominated all the other genres on display. Dubstep, fidget house, and nu disco label showcases were a minority. But I got the sense minimal this year doesn't sound much different from last year, i wonder how much longer this will last. Where do we go next from here?

hopefully we'll get a techno-rollback!

To my ears "minimal" sounds the same since 2 and a half years.

I wanna freak out like crazee again, cos I'm sick of tippin' my toes for hours and hours.

I think the minimal approach is a new standard for electronic music. It's a formula that works, i just think different sounds and different patterns will become popular. i'm liking more house and detroit sounding techno but it's all really stripped down.

this really. I just wish there's gonna be more funk in minimal and less deep deep stuff that scares you. Oh and maybe the kickdrum won't be the most important element anymore...
