Booking Agency

Post by sven laux »

Hey there,

I just asked myself for years now, what do I have to do to get into a booking agency?

<bleep> This is a serious question! <bloop>

Thanks for your advices or whatever... :)

you know... I wouldn't worry about that if i were you
some agents are good and some just put your name in their roster and don't do sh!t for you...

just keep on releasing your music and over time people will start recognizing you and bookings will follow if you work on getting connections, with or without an agent

don't think that you will have more bookings, because you're with an agency (unless it's a very good one...)

there are still quite a few bigger names out there who handle their own bookings...

Hehe, but what about the releases? Sure, it's more important to release on vinyl, but it is necessary?

If you release a digital one that is played and supported by all the big guys then it doesn't matter.

You shouldn't relax, you need to promote yourself, talk to clubs/promoters, maybe make exchange bookings with other people in other countries (if you have the possibility to do some parties in your own city), keep releasing good records, have an updated website/myspace, do mixes and so on... and then by time see if you can get into a good agency..

but, as other have written already... getting into one might not be the hardest part, but you might end up in some agencies that actually does NOTHING at all... (like me :? :? )
