In general I think sampling classical can be quite trite. Artists like Murcof working with instrumentation and trying to position it in the midst of a glitchscape makes much more sense.

I am very weary of jazz-classical sampling in Techno/Minimal.. the act kind of begs acknowledgment as a "serious" art form. I'd rather see tactics & traditions from other styles of music imported into contemporary electronic music production and interrogated and/or challenged!

I think a lot of classical stuff than ends up being sampled is wanky & nostalgic anyways. Don't even get me started on orchestras playing techno or video game music! Again.. that smacks of desperation.

You intitled to your opinion man, but without being rude, i was jus asking for links and help with the subject, not adivce or opinion..

I can kinda see what you mean..... but your generalising!

By sampling, i mean, modern electronic music which embraces real acoustic music, weather its sampled or real musicians have recorded the music live.....

Murcof stuff is ok, i find his recent album a bit boring, but he is cool

fair enough if someone download a dull 16 beat saxaphone loop and plays it over techno, that can be very naff...

But to dismiss or generalise about the marriage of old and new (modern and nostalgic) is kinda ignorant!

Maybe your coming across wrong
