i know hawtin uses, sereto scratch.
Never used either of them, so couldnt tell you. They are probably massively similar, with a few different features.
I always go on google and search for 'traktor scratch problems' i will then get links to other forums with ppl that own what i want and have dealt with possible problems.

Serato +1

Traktor (if you look at other Native Instruments software, they release maybe 1 or 2 minor upgrades than ask you to pay for a major)

serato, plus with the upcoming midi compatibility and auto loop functions, its gonna be outstanding.
