subtle differences

what are some differences and similarities you see in the British/American/Dutch/German/Asian/Canadian minimal scenes be it producers, labels, clubs etc. (sorry if i forgot your region feel free to join in )

techno (and allmost all dance-related music) parties seem to attract more people then over in the States. Overhere in Holland theres almost a big party every weekend , a good club party is easy to find every weekend. The only big event i ever heard of in the States in the Detroit movement festival. I cant really explain why because it sounds really unlogical to me , Holland is a much smaller country and still all those parties seem te be selling well (although lately people seem to loose interest more). Maybe its because of our more open attitude towards things , i kinda get the idea that in the states people have a really bad picture of what house music and club life is.....
