To be honest I was expecting more unreleased material or rare stuff. I dont see the point in CD format if it's not giving an edge over the vinyl or mp3 format. I buy vinyl for the feeling and sound, mp3 because it allows me to buy single selected tracks but CD...
But it's Zip, so I may end up buying it and making my argument invalid so

stuff needs to be licensed.. that's problematic in case of rare and very old stuff..blizt wrote:To be honest I was expecting more unreleased material or rare stuff. however i don't agree with the antipathy for cds..
it's not possible to put a 90 minute dj-set on vinyl, so cd is the best choice for releasing mixes imo, and therefore i have no problem buying one.. tho i also like buying album cd's on discogs, especially old stuff cause the quality of the sound is assured to be ace.. additionally it's nice for listening in your car.. srsly the cd collection in the car is kinda the equivalent to my vinyl collection at home
i'll end up buying it for sure cause downloading it illegal sucks(cause i like the artist, and the fabric mixes in general are a good thing), and not listening to it at all sucks even more
Re: FABRIC 67 mixed by ZIP
I think I didnt make my point clear enough. I know CD is the correct format for releasing mixes, is just that I dont feel this mix of tracks it's offering me enough to justify spending "X" euros.
The thing is if this cd mix was half unreleased tracks and half classics, secret weapons, whatever it will be purchasing it with a blink of an eye. But there's is only one unreleased track and the rest I can just youtube them (quality sucks I know), not really unheard material. This is what puts me off.
But I also like to buy CD (mostly albums) from time to time to expand my collection, because it just feels so weird having all the music in the hard drive. So probably this one will end sooner or later in my hands.

Re: FABRIC 67 mixed by ZIP
sometimes you just pop in a cd and read a book or something.
even if it's not full of unreleased stuff (like fabric36) it's a glimpse of what zip does on the dancefloor, in wav quality. I tend to prefer this to 128kbps sets.

you dont know a mix only because you know the tracks in it....
