what i also do is creating kicks by sidechaining (as well with operator)

I'm very happy with my samson r6a. they've got ribbon hi freq transducers (!) which is amazing for the price (about 400 €). the midrange and hi end are very smooth. the bass is ok.
plus they have a very good directivity.
