Re: some feedback would be appreciated

I think you're in the wrong place to seek feedback but I'll chip in. The track you posted sounds great, it sounds lovely on my system, but it nothing happens in the music. The whole track is the same as it starts. It sounds really good but you never go anywhere with it, it just repeats. Potential un...

Re: drum programming and swing

In Ableton, just quantize to a percentage of 16 triplets / 16t. IE: Say you just programmed in some drums with the grid resolution at 16ths, select all and quantize options, then choose 16t, then a percentage of that. The higher the percentage, the heavier the swing. I always use this method myself,...

Re: Recording to Tape ( cassette, worth the hassle? )

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ENcOLoE42e0 This is kinda what I mean, a lot of roundness, warmth and glued together thing going on. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TGCxBVu1-sE Not a fan of this track but right at the end, he records to tape and explains that he will re-record it back into the comp...

Re: Recording to Tape ( cassette, worth the hassle? )

My personal tries with tapes were not successful, the result was not worth the hassle, and although the signal was compressed, there was a lack on certain frequencies. I got much better results with saturation plugins (e.g. the one in Ableton) and loading samples into devices that have a typical 12...

Re: Recording to Tape ( cassette, worth the hassle? )

No, I'm at the thinking about stage at the moment. I watched a production video on legowelt a while back and he did exactly this and I since discovered that others have used them. Unfortunately, I don't know anyone directly in order to ask but I have heard that it's useful when looking for some smea...

I'm thinkin about synth lines, drums, parts etc, not the whole mix. Thin is, I also have Waves ...

Re: Favorite DeepHouse Labels ?

Yeah DaRand Land is one of my fav producers, his style has changed since those days though but his output always has a certain something to it which I like. I tend to keep an eye on producers rather than the labels themselves as they can release on a variety of different ones. I like the Pulp stuff....
