Re: Trackers: Ie: Renoise, MadTracker2, OpenMPT etc etc
Hi AK, I started to get into electronic music in my early teens, just as home computers started to be sold at a reasonable price and with a soundblaster card included, so trackers were my first step into music production. So, Scream Tracker, Impulse Tracker and then Fast Tracker, before moving on t...

Trackers: Ie: Renoise, MadTracker2, OpenMPT etc etc
Anybody here familiar with music trackers? I have a side project I am starting in the new year with a mate of mine and it's inspired by 90's Jungle and Ambient DnB/Jazzy 2 step stuff in a minimal vein. I was thinking about getting into a tracker program ( Renoise ) to come in from a completely diffe...

Re: Deep chord shots
Make them yourself mate, it's not difficult and you'll have much more creative options. Meant to reply but forgot being Xmas and all but for the vast majority on tracks in this vein, there are a number of common chord types and basic variations on how you voice them will give you a slightly differen...

Re: Deep chord shots
Hi mate. Struggling to hear on my phone so it's difficult to make out the chord types so will have another listen to some later but you don't mention what chords you have already been trying, if you can reply with the sort of chord shapes you have been experimenting with, it might save a bit of time...

Re: Production PC & Laptop file transfer questions
Cheers guys. I ditched the idea of trying to remotely connect the 2 computers, no point. I have an external HD actually, it's connected to my desktop pc and it has my entire sample library on it but there's a weird thing going on with some USB ports on my desktop pc, the external drive just rests on...

Production PC & Laptop file transfer questions
So I got myself a laptop for music on the move as I am away from home a lot. Straight to the questions as I'm not too great with computer specifics. Say I make some parts of a track on my desktop pc and want to transfer those files to my laptop, what would be the best/quickest way to do this? The ob...

Re: Classic House Bass
Actually, no, maybe not. I presumed it could load other DX sounds but hadn't bothered to check it out or not beforehand but such is my limited knowledge of FM synthesis, I just assumed a 6 op FM synth would do the sounds on a 4 op FM synth? I understand the DX11/TX81z has other waveforms besides sin...

Re: Classic House Bass

Its super clicky, you can hear it with just/kick bass at the end. i didn't rea...
