Re: how to create this type of bass line sounds and sequence

Short punchy kick, edge off sharp transients, compress and put a hp filter on the kick channel for later and create your bass in and around that kickdrum, See what you can get away with when the patterns are playing. Look for a 'pocket' to sit the kick. In fact, the 2nd track you posted has the answ...

Re: Classic House Bass

Hey Bradley, Mr KS here. I used a fretless bass for this remix. Check Trilogy etc, good presets in it. As far as I can remember, I didn't eq/comp. But you can use a sine wav with a lowpass filter with a bit of resonance. Sounds pretty much the same. Also, when the part of the track is HP filtered, ...

Re: Regis style rumbly Techno! - How?

Anyway, my advice to sophiesophie in light of the tracks posted ( particularly the 2nd because there's more obvious tuning ) would be to first tune the drums ( 808's are easy to tune as are 909's ) because you are going to be using these as your low end. Tuned drums = tuned reverb - which essentiall...

Re: Regis style rumbly Techno! - How?

Just to add, if you have ever had a sampled kick which is really short but you like it but would love more decay and you try layering in something, or 'welding' it onto the decay of another, try using the source sound so that you are dealing with the same set of frequencies. Reverb freeze or the Pau...

Re: Regis style rumbly Techno! - How?

AK coming through with the techniques.Looking forward to trying these out. Been experimenting with Valhalla vintage verb to get more pumping reverb effects with pre-delay and different algorithms. Had some good results with the Chamber algorithm on it. (I don't think this is the same effect the OP ...

Re: Regis style rumbly Techno! - How?

Ah, the old Nintendo Rumble Pak. Was always more of a DualShock type person... Maybe that's why I've been struggling to get this rumble sound! :-) Trust me, you wouldn't like to hear any of my attempts so far! They’re mostly falling somewhat flat. AK, wow, thanks for the really helpful, detailed re...

Re: Regis style rumbly Techno! - How?

I should maybe have mentioned in my original post that I have tried sending one of the kick sounds/tracks to a reverb and low-pass combination. However, still this doesn't quite seem to get the same sound. Like I said in my original post, the thing I can't seem to work out is how the pitch of the b...
