Re: New Studio Build

From the sounds of these videos the bass is more electro house style or dub step. Nah mate . It's just demo'ing with the filter wide open :? - which is something they would do to show you how the filter sounds. I'm not saying, go get this synth but I'm saying you're mistaken for pigeon-holing it to...

Re: New Studio Build

The Moog Minitaur looks very cool but not sure about the sounds it will make for tech hhouse and techno. i like really low subby type bass sounds. ??? I don't quite understand what you mean there. I don't think there are any demos of it yet but it's an analogue monophonic synth. How could it not ma...

Re: New Studio Build

well the allen & heath IS a better soundcard :) also mackie makes one as well... 16 channel.. firewire in & out... I'd say its a pretty desirable addition to any techno studio. However.. I agree that adding room treatment is #1 priority. Then maybe some analog synth capabilities (my vote is...

Re: New Studio Build

If I were spending that money, I'd be buying synths and stuff. I have some of this gear already but I'd get a Machinedrum over Maschine ( - you can use samples ITB with efx chains ) a Monomachine ( I like Elektron products ;) ) a nice bass synth - 101, new Pulse 2?, Moog minitaur? A new audio inter...

Re: New Studio Build

Maybe you want to check out the Allen & Heath Zed R16-mixer? Decent quality, nice EQ and 16 channels of AD/DA in one box for 1600 euros. Though, I'd rather put the money on a computer plus an analog synth or two. If you want quality mixing with compression on many channels, your budget is prett...

Re: New Studio Build

I'm not a fan of that multimix, I have one here and there's a constant low level hiss and when used through the USB, it's so noisy that it's unusable. Whether this is a faulty USB socket on it or the lead is in need of replacement I don't know, but when not used via USB, it's ok enough to use. The ...

Re: Nord Drum

it's just completely the wrong price point for something with 1 output. if you want to process individual sounds or pan them you have to record them into the computer one at a time, which i find a waste of time. if you don't use a computer then it's useless because you can pan anything and you can ...

Re: Would you buy a moog modular for $1000

@ Markos. i don't believe most rapists are similar criminals to psychopaths or serial killers. many rapists lead lives as "respectable" citizens and only something like 5% of rapes (in the UK at least) lead to a conviction or sentence for the perpetrator. (sorry for ridiculous OT) LOL
