xp on a mac is alright, my friend runs it. I would personally run osx, but if you already have a lot of pc software i can see your point.

sounds good, but some of the sounds are a bit bright. the synth is a bit harsh. but seems to fall into place later on.
i suppose you havent really mixed/eq'ed it yet.
but keep it up, look forward to the finished version
