the most important thing for me is 3 head so you can monitor the recorded signal and therefore use the deck as a distortion or saturation device.

2 oscillators to filters, to reverb to cassette = end thread/universe

John my approach is exactly that... I only play gigs where I feel safe about it... they're pretty much the only people who'll invite me anyway! It's horrible though... I'll never be satisfied but I would rather have that line of success and failure than just going through the motions. I would slowly...

all the bad noise of tape with none of the vibe, and more expensive than what you would pay for a killer cassette deck!

I've got a Tascam 122 Mk2 for cheaper than this, it's in my rack to be taken out live. So good sounding.

lots of the modular scene is gear fetishism... used to be more open minded about it but I'm pretty prepared to go on record and say that now. I am interested in booking modular peeps for events and I've listened to pretty much everything out there and there aren't that many musicians using those too...

u-he zebra 2 is a good workhorse synth with good configurability, modularity and good sound.
