Remixing
How do people feel about remixing tracks? I really can't seem to get into it myself. When I get a sample pack to attempt to remix, it generally sounds next to nothing like the original. If I use the original sounds/loops the way they were presented, I feel like I'm really not doing much, so I end up...

Re: Fed Up With Beatport . . .
I use whatpeopleplay exclusively after a long stint with junodownload and a few trips to beatport. WPP's selection is way more refined then those other two sites and I enjoy the interface more also. I will get music direct from labels, but mostly use WPP. In regards to genre's, it's all subjective d...

Re: Going analog
But the point im trying to make is that its better to learn your software through and through, THEN its really transparent in the creative process. That's a good point. I considered Live before I got on board with Numerology (shut up Lem :D ), but found that although it was quicker to get ideas dow...

Re: Programming a nice kick with the Mbase11 ?
Care to elaborate why you don't use it anymore? I should state that I'm happy with the kicks I've been making and recording. The problem is sometimes I'd like to make small adjustments to kick mid track, but can't really do it with a sample.

Bumping this thread to see who's still using an Mbase. Steevio, are you still using yours? Still liking it? There's a few on ebay for decent prices at the moment and thinking about grabbing one.

Music Theory PDF
http://www.worldofbryan.com/rsg2mt.pdf
Thought I'd throw this link up here for anyone on the forum who is new to music theory and wants to learn more. This pdf explains things quite well in an easy to understand way. I've had a copy for years and it helped me to understand a lot of things.

Re: modular etc etc
I'm going to add more dedicated percussion modules at some point. I'm thinking 808 snare and clap and possibly the 909 kick once it comes out. However, I'm quite happy with the kick drums I've been making and recording from scratch and I don't really desire it. Plus, I'd want more variety out of a d...
