Re: Classic House Bass

Common distraction to go analog for house bass... try a digital synth something like a DX7. lots of great bass sounds there and used on many classic records. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2AvJ9n8UlW0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xtBkOgW8GBo Good call, I was playing with dexed vst tonight and m...

Re: kick shaping

Transient designers ( well decent one's ) will let you reduce transients as well as increase them. If you're looking to soften kicks, you can also do this in a sampler. You just edge the attack envelope up past the point of any click or sharp transients. You'll be left with a softer tone which can d...

Re: Classic House Bass

It's always difficult trying to nail the oscillator source of sounds when they have been filtered so low but to me, it almost has a sense of realism, just a hint of it in a synth kinda way, when trying to come up with these types of bases, I always try Pulse waves, you mentioned you only tried squar...

Re: Multi effects plug-ins

Another Guitar Rig fan. I don't like things too clean and hi-fi so anything that takes a clean signal path to a more 'worn' variety. Besides that and ITB, Kontakt and its included efx and the stuff that comes bundled with Live really, efx racks etc...

Re: Any idea how to create this butane's crazy bassline ?

It's actualy hi pass filtered, the bass end has been playing since the track started. Think of this sound as a drone and not a 'bass drone'. It all sounds very 'Juno-ish' to me. At exactly 5:20, there's the classic Juno style sub oscillator with chorus and then the single note drone comes in - which...

Re: TR-8

If you intend to use it in a studio context being synced by Ableton, be aware of timing issues. Ive read a lot of people say they cannot keep it synced and that they just make loops and record them in correcting timing issues later.

Re: Track Naming?

 It gets crazy real quick. What I am going to do and I have no clue as to why this eluded me for so long, is bounce out/record a main chunk of the track as a reference and put it in the project folder so I can have a quick listen to what I can expect before I spend the next hour opening and clo...

Re: Would anyone like to collab with me?

Keep at it AK! You've got great sounding stuff... Two things... You probably need less arrangement than you think. Something that has helped me was to make an arrangement map of some of my favorite tracks. Using ableton, load in a track. Y your favorite producer and start drawing in using empty mid...
