Re: Giving away all of my music for free.
I mean bitcrushing. It's a pretty straightforward effect which, if used subtly, usually adds the sort of sound you get by running stuff through an SP-1200 or an old Akai. There's a bunch of free ones that do the task decently. Here's one. This song makes great use of bitcrushing on a lot of its stem...

Re: Smallpeople Stringpad
Take a physical modelling synth which has strings modelled into it, add a bit of reverb and bandpass with a broad Q. If the exact chord is important, I think it's Maj7 at G. Also, have more decay and less sustain on the ADSR and make the pad 4/4 long.

Dotted tape delay, a bit of saturation, reverb, bandpass filter on minor chords.

Re: Giving away all of my music for free.
Listening to Last Judge, just writing my personal thoughts up here as I think your perspective to music has loads of potential. The synths are aboslutely amazing, the voice samples are nice. To me it feels like the drums and the vocals could use a lot more effects on them. If you put more reverb and...

Re: marcel dettmann bass
The thing that is in from the very beginning sounds a lot like an 808 maracas with a few lowpassed dotted delays doing the interesting rhythm around it. There's also a little bit of reverb and some of its highest frequencies have been taken out of the sound. Put the beats on the backbeat the drum, b...

Re: marcel dettmann bass
In that case, I was completely wrong. I was being delusional about this whole ordeal. I was having a really sh!t time in life at the time and it got the best of me when I was writing.

Re: marcel dettmann bass
I can hear reverb on a lot of elements in the clip you posted, but I can't hear that much on the kick. The layout of the effects sounds a bit like on 5.7 Litre. It's not just about someone trying to turn their reverb up. It's about making something with it. You can't have a reverb that huge with as ...

Re: marcel dettmann bass
Yes, it's completely true that everybody has their own way of doing things. It's all good if you want a sound that doesn't have effects obstructing it. But the thing is, that I was giving him advice on how to do one particular type of sound and if you really want to do a sound with truth in it, you ...
