usually the kick doesnt have enough presence or has too much, which is why i started this thread (tuning it was never an issue). so how do you tune your kick in relation to the bass ? the way i see it, is the kicks presence in the track is directly related to how it sits amongst elements in the sam...

Phasing is not the right term I guess, but mostly having accent and another layer/signal/anything under the kick with an lfo changing some parameters or the other layer swinging out of sync or something like that, but like I sayd, it could be an illusion in some cases...when you have the whole trac...

I think maybe ( I'm guessing here ) is that you're making kicks in isolation. lol yeah i make them in isolation. thats because i build everything around them, when i try to build other drums first it doesnt go well for me. so i build in isolation than trying to tweak it after i have the rhythm buil...

ive been experimenting and trying out things for long time now, but havent got to a point where i have a 'go to' way to make a kick. when i use a dedicated kick module if i never get the bend right where im satisfied with the body timbre and amount of low end. also i hate the click sound. never soun...

i used to use focusrite (old series) midi clock to send midi to a few intruments in a chain (3-4 instruments) with no issue. so thats what i would go for.

you need to send midi through the midi interface you use.
