You specify your vst path here:

options > file settings

Anything else should be under 'Installing VST and DX Plugins' in the help file :)

It looks a little over-complicated for what I want. I just want to be able to make modules, sequencers, synths etc which sound good too. Maybe you should look at Tassman? What's wrong with Vaz? Nothing, it's just another alternative for you to check out before you make a decision. Less complicated ...

Yeah, I doubt Loco Dice, Steve Lawler et al don't know their way around a studio...

It's more like having someone in the room to bounce ideas off, etc., rather than having them write the track for you..
