Ecler make good quality mixers, up with Rodec, Rane etc. I have a HAK series mixer. Faders are proper quality and have a good feel.

It comes down to what features you want.

Software: Ableton, Cubase, Sonar (Download demos to find out what suits you) Audio interface: RME FireFace 400 or a Presonus Firebox(cheaper option) Monitors: Wharfedale Diamond 8.1 Softsynths etc check http://www.kvraudio.com/ lots of free grat stuff. Something like Korg Micro Kontrol for midi.

Great effects and good sound. Roland have great effects in general. Diffrent flow of working. You can really get diffrent sounds out of it.

Best advice is to get a demo of it in some store.

I was referring to the first post I made, that you thought were meant for you: point taken, but times changed alot and now when you can get almost everything for free, it's no wonder noone gives a fck. sad tho. most people don't see music as an art...

If you can`t afford music, you have no right to take for free. People complain about music being expensive, people bought records in Chicago/Detroit/Berlin etc 10-15years ago.
