Gotta love it when you hear the Amen break in TV ads! I think there are several different methods of making electronic music... I have always respected people like DJ Shadow and Luke Vibert who can graciously rip samples from vinyl and make it fit better in their songs than it did in the original......

In my own personal case I have a UAD card which I love.

It is generally speaking a pain to rewire.

I think it all comes down to workflow really... which is what makes hardware great. Reason reminds me of my old Yamaha rs7000. Some of the sounds are kinda weak, but rewired to ableton ... Both native instruments and ableton live are cross-platform. You shouldn't have any trouble opening your live files you made on a PC as long as you have the same plugins installed on your mac
