Have you ever heard of DA convertors? let alone that the MPC3000 has a preamplifier. Yes. And due to the fact that D to A is very common (all CD and DVD players have them) D to A is a commodity. A to D is another story and so are pre-amps. The MPC is 16 bit right? Anyway... Arguing about the merits...

Referring to the warm sound of a digital box is somewhat silly.

To clarify using Live + MPD is only similar to an MPC if we are talking about real-time writing (not step writing).

Using an MPC to trigger live also seems a bit overkill.

I use ableton + an akai mpd16 and it works very similar to an mpc as a performance instrument. Very similar except easier to use and more powerful.

My t3 project http://www.alwayst3.com used the looper + micro sync in our dj/computer set. The mico sync will spit out a midi clock but I found it to sync so so. In the end we scrapped the micro sync and just used the looper. If the display of the looper said 128.1 bmp I would set the software to 12...

hmm...isn't this normal for every bundle version (Lite) that comes with hardware? I got Live lite 4 and even I can upgrade to 5.2 for the same price.
