Let your kick sit around 40-120hz, and let the bass line sit above 120hz.
Also, shorten the envelopes on your bass patch and write around your kick patterns. You have to give the speaker an opportunity to rest so that it can push air.

In order to do simple FM synthesis (say a four OP synth like the Yamaha DX100 for instance) in analogue, you would need four oscillators, four envelopes, one LFO for modulation... for a single voice. A DX100 has eight voices, so that would require 32 oscillators, 32 envelope generators, 8 lfo's... Y...

It is also good to have some light foam on the wall behind the speakers to reduce reflections. You might want to get some bass traps for the back corners of the room to fight against standing waves. this is techno man... even tough i'm with the learn an instrument idea... you don't need that to build tension in electronic dance music. It depends on what you want out of a music career.
