same here - never had speed problems with the built in 5400 drive in my laptop. 12 stereo tracks (24 audio tracks) is no problem for the drive and if you ever run into troubles try to activate the RAM switch on some clips in the same row - so they get played from ram. 24 tracks @ 44.1khz 16 bit = 2....

thanks for your replies. the xone 3d looks like the perfect thing.. unfortunately a bit pricey for my budget but the features are dope. the ecler seems to be a cool alternative. thanks again!

i wonder if there are dj-mixers with midi features?

the stock xone92 has some very minimalistic midi functions and i know there is the modified xone92 ctrl edition but its not available off-the-shelf. so are there any other mixers with midi implementation?
