Certainly Richie Hawtin, Dubfire and Chris Liebing all use traktor / laptop set ups.
Watching a lot of the djs at global gathering I certainly see quite a bit of CDs being used.
Its the music counts not the format then I guess?

I loved vinyl and it gives me find memories of friends getting together for a mix and great times. They do sound amazing compared to vinyl but does anyone actually care apart from us what format it's played on? I spent years carrying around stacks of vinyl but I had no other option now I carry a lap...

Machine is a great studio tool but you definitely got to take time to learn how to use it. Hands on step sequencing is the bomb. I have it set up across 8 channels in ableton with a bunch of effects on the return so can send each sound out via a combinations of effects. When I get bored with that I ...
