replacing the screen will cost you a lot.
I had a screen die on me on my monomachine, after warranty had expired:
50 swiss francs to ship it to sweden
70 EUR for the screen +50 EUR for the work.
Think about how much could you sell it.. it might not be worth it.
I hope for you not, just warning you.

Re: Reaktor & Machinedrum influence & use in minimal
I think there have been some years in which reaktor played a big role in minimal techno, all those plink-plonk random generators with randomizing feature have been overused, after that it seems to me that machinedrum got pretty popular among minimal techno producers, so yes, I think those two influe...

Re: Ableton rendering problem
It might no longer make a difference (never bothered with rendering ever since) but I normally still tweak some parameters when doing the final recording, so I have to record in realtime, render is not an option for me and the way I work. Recording external gear is something I do a lot, so I prefer ...

Re: selling machinedrum...
i was in fact considering making a ghetto setup with the MD sequencing my old rack sampler, just for those computerless old school moments... just a sequencer and a sampler.
