Re: robert hood synth stab

In general I agree with you, but this: In my opinion Picasso was a hack. My 4 year old niece can do more interesting paintings... really destroys your credibility. Re: Legowelt's view on modular.

of course it's a ridiculously dismissive generalization, but he's right that the modular synth world is supported by gear fetish hobbyists who really don't make music

I liked the interview and identify with his process - that being said, if I had the time and money I'd love to build a modular system

Juno 106 for $150, auction ending in a few hours

Looks kinda rough (LFO rate slider missing) but apparently it's all working and can be returned. Only shipping to USA though. Tempting to use my American address to buy it but maybe not worth the hassle since I'm touring right away and wouldn't be able to test it. Could be a winner though!! http://w...

Re: does tempo matter?

played about 93 - 160 last night without any drastic changes was with a friend who covers more of the bass music/juke angle to be fair we stayed around 120 - 140 during peak time a couple years ago I would have steadily climbed from 120 to 130, microscopically increasing the tempo over a few hours, ...

Re: Playing with a Saxophonist etc

pretty tasteless idea although it seems to have worked out for parov stelar and a few other cheeseballs

I know a guy who plays trombone along with a hip-hop "ensemble" - after their set he usually insists on jamming along with the other DJs for the rest of the night. awful awful stuff
