of course it's a ridiculously dismissive generalization, but he's right that the modular synth world is supported by gear fetish hobbyists who really don't make music

Not really on topic but I remember this guy playing as "the Phat Conductor" in sketchy chinese restaurant deep into the morning ... think it was a totally improvised set and he was kinda mangled-seeming. Pretty tight workflow ![Wink ;)](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)

played about 93 - 160 last night without any drastic changes was with a friend who covers more of the bass music/juke angle to be fair we stayed around 120 - 140 during peak time a couple years ago I would have steadily climbed from 120 to 130, microscopically increasing the tempo over a few hours, ...

pretty tasteless idea although it seems to have worked out for parov stelar and a few other cheeseballs
I know a guy who plays trombone along with a hip-hop "ensemble" - after their set he usually insists on jamming along with the other DJs for the rest of the night. awful awful stuff
