Try lots of less than perfect reverbs with artefacts, pitching, track doubling with each track subtley detuned and perhaps some bit reduction.

The Ice reverb in maschine is a great example of a purposefully noisy reverb effect, there are other plug-ins that do similar jobs.

Examining patches is a great way to learn synthesis techniques. Always has been always will be.

Hi there just bought u-he ACE Any Cable Everywhere Synth as I was very impressed with the sound quality and the "analogueness" of the sound.

Anyone else here been using it? If so do you have an Patches Hints or Tips I should Know about?

Will you be doing much recording of vocals and "real" instruments because if you are then logic is the better option. If not then it depends on how deep you want to get into synth & drum programming. Reason 5 is very deep out of the box in terms of programming.
