If I were you ID seriously consider Native Instruments Maschine as your drum/percussion base, its a great piece of kit for live playing and jamming with.

I have it and have used it a bit mostly for sounds sculpting and experimentation, but I got a copy of Maschine a couple of months back and have been spending 90% of my time on that.
