i use the editor stand-alone as all my sequencing is done from MPC 2500 using the DIN Midi-In port. The Tetra manual states that USB-Midi and DIN Midi can't be used at the same time as it could confuse the device (if midi messages sent to both ports) but I haven't run into any problems this way. are you running the editor stand-alone (ie. without another sequencer / program running)?

If you want to use a DAW and the editor together you'll need to use a virtual midi-port like midi-ox or something.

No probs here with set-up on xp service pack 2. keep trying.

should point out that being 24bit, you'll need to batch convert them into 16bit to use in any MPC other than the MPC4000!

glad it's working for you. You'll be out of luck with JJ OS though mate..its only avail on the 1000 and 2500 I think!

one further thing to check..not sure if the 500 supports but...you haven't recorded in track mute changes have you? This would make it chop in and out and it's sometimes easy to record it without noticing. With JJOS there is an option to delete all track mute settings from a track or sequence - not ...
