As far as the sound goes there is no doubt that ableton has a colored sound but this may be only a result of the real-time sound and not what actually happens when you hit render. i find the sound gets worse the more plugins i add and more CPU i use and this is not the case in Reaper or other apps....

Just for the sake of completness, just read the Villalobos interview, and with no word he says that Ableton sounds inferior. He is a purist when it comes to sound, and he mentiones that things like Reaktor or Live, which have everything ITB, tend to have a specific sound. But this is only true as lo...

Especially with music there's a huge degree of feeling that's involved. Why can't they reproduce the sound of a Stradivarius violin anymore, even with all the techniques and tools we currently have available. God knows many have tried and all failed. Scientists used the same materials, the same tec...

Thanks for pointing the Ableton info out, I have read that document a while ago, too. If I may comment on the non-neutral operations in Live: Volume Automation Automation of volume level results in a change in gain, which is necessarily a non-neutral operation. Nuff said, same holds for any other DA...

you must be new to the internet the point being that your argument is the same regurgitated BS that has plagued production forums for the last years  also, im not name dropping. i was simply making a comparison to people like you who think warping/timestretching in LIVE is some unknown anomal...

Just to avoid confusion, a null test is the following: 1. Generate the same signal in two DAWs. You can use audio loops, 3rd party plugins, whatever you want 2. Bounce the out signal form the mix bus 3. Phase invert one of the bounced files 4. Overlay the two files If the result is a null signal (i....

its funny cause on the forums you read this stupid testing stuff meanwhile artists like villalobos, pronsato and others all have talked numerous times about ableton's sound. so you have a bunch of kids on the forum saying there's no difference and the top artists in the world that say there is an o...
