If you use ableton, turn on the return for the send/return channels, then you can route a ping-pong delay back on itself, add reverb/distortion or whatever, make your own tape delay..

Heads up, upgrade to Record isn't that much more expensive and you get reason 4 thrown in for free. You can also import reason 3/4 files into it and you get a nice ssl mixer and some other goodies.

You can do live on any midi sequencer using a looping arrangement. You can do a live set using mutes in any sequencer, if you use a midi mute you can trigger the sequence on the next bar. Then create one big loop, and for shorter sections duplicate them next to each other. Not as flexible as ableton...
