A seperate channel bounced down to Kick, Bass, Perc, Synth, Other is the usual way its done - tom cosm has a video on this somewhere, its flexible enough though for me, i'm thinking about having two laptops to play live, and load alternate songs on each. steevio is right, i use headphones and it does fck with your hearing, you end up making yourself deaf and turning the volume up louder and louder.. Take breaks if you do have to use them - they are useful for monitoring though - some things you just don't catch on the monitors that you can hear in h...

Ok, i solved this by building a second half-depth ledge on top of my existing desk at the back half of it - placing my monitors and lcd/amp/ etc. on this, having my synth underneath, and keyboard/mouse etc on the lower level.
Hope this makes sense! Had to build it myself, but well worth the effort.
