Not exactly a book, but there is a special edition ableton live magazine out this month, its pretty good and comes with a load of live packs on the cover cd, as well as tutorials and tips from some top ableton producers.

I think if you have a delay with a shortish delay time that has the facility to repitch as you change the time (on ableton 8 you can right-click its somewhere in the menu for all of the in-built delays), and set the wet/dry to 50/50 then change the delay time - might be what you are looking for..
