the routing, effects handling are just too good in ableton. and there are often very simple direct solutions for missing functions in cubase you don't see at first. could you expand on this a little more. why is ableton's routing better than cubase? effects handling? you have almost free routing in...

yeah I do, but I just use the arrange view or do something really "live" in the session view and records it. but 'working' in session on a track don't work for me. you may ask why I don't use cubase when I do mostly linear arranging, I love cubase and know it well, but even if I miss a lot...

attack envelope for drum samples...

I ask myself since a long time if batterys attack envelope is limiting or not. I have to say I'm a bit disappointed that battery only have this kind of exponential attack envelope (picture 1): picture1: http://www.apsnet.org/education/AdvancedPlantPath/Topics/RModules/doc1/images/Thumbs/D1_exponenti...

Except bob katz, but he is a douche by all accounts i have heard. ;). lol sorry, but I don't agree on the genelec thing. I think they are quite common, as far as I know dubplat...

ableton 90% and 10% cubase, I miss the workflow and the small details from live everytime I work in cubase. but cubase is great for certain tasks.

but I think if ableton add some needed not fancy basic daw features I will leave cubase completely.

i also did a test last night in Reaper comapred to Ableton. I had a kit coming out of NI Maschine, same kit at the same volume... I applied the Waves L3-LL multiband compressor on the channel. In ableton once i got more than 3db of gain reduction there was lots of distortion, audible noise... at 6d...
