Short answer is: Saw wave and play around with the filter envelope. If you just spend an hour experimenting you should get something similar.

Hey this discussion is great I have comments on a ton of stuff but am in a hurry to get to school so will have to wait.

On uploading the patch. Yes i will. Just need to spend some more time on getting it stable and in some sort of state that some one else could understand it.

Yesterday i made a patch using max/msp. It's very inspired (almost just an emulation) by the z8000 seuqencer from tiptop audio but a bit modulated so it uses midi and only one clock. i do different things. Sometimes i force myself to do something. Dosen't have to be a track or something that can turn into the track just play around and make sound for a while. But most often i find doing something else that i find rewarding is the quickest way back. Go see a friend, go to a party...
