Re: When mastering, where should i cut off in the low end?

In my tracks, there are always hpf on master. But eq8 isn't best choice, it isn't so precise. I recomended Brickwall filters from iZotope Ozone 5 or VPS Philta (there's awsome freeware version of that plugin). There is absolutely no reason in the universe to do something like this for electronic mu...

Re: When mastering, where should i cut off in the low end?

I have no idea about the harmonics on say a Piano but if I'm creating a synthesized sound, I imagine the lowest note I hit, is the lowest note and that there aren't frequencies below that. Well that was and has been my understanding all the time. :?: All sounds have harmonics in conjunction with ot...

Re: When mastering, where should i cut off in the low end?

Don't cut low end for mastering ever. If you have low end problems it's because of the mixdown. Low end also helps to push the highs through so to automatically filter lows is not a good thing especially in electronic music. If it was acoustically recorded i i could see maybe doing it on a few track...

Re: something in the sky / mills...

Jeff is just straight up funky. I know some of the gear he uses besides the obvious drum machines and i'm still baffled. He's a natural left handed drummer and doesn't just stick to 4/4 time on a drum machine. Jeff is a straight up freak of nature and allot more of a minimalist than allot of minimal...

Re: Gain staging - sub bass

Hi, Just wanted to ask a question about sub bass levels. Now I know obviously a mix should be done with your ears, but I'm finding getting the sub levels of my mixes difficult, I'm sure partly due to the fact that a lot of those frequencies I can't actually hear. So... I've read that when gain stag...

Re: robert hood synth stab

It never ceases to amaze me when people want to ask questions like "How can i make this sound?" When the artist that made the sound originally was thinking "How can i make a sound nobody else has made?" Where's your sense of adventure? It never ceases to amaze me the way that questions such as 'how...

Re: Legowelt's view on modular.

I'm sorry but i understand Legowelt on this one pretty well. I know plenty about synthesis, in fact i've built my own analog pieces from scratch quite a few times down to the basic designs as projects for my apprenticeship. That being said i would rather have a ROMpler too. The main reason being tha...
