if you could pick any laptop for performing live, running ableton, midi controllers etc, what would it be an why? Someone mentioned dual processor laptops coming out real soon, any real advantages? Any help would be great, many thanks.

i've never used it, but i can be sure its not as good as the waves compressor, and if u really want to go thru the hassle of exporting each element of you track individually and lining them up in another app you may as well use what is probably the best software comp there is. dont bother doin that, the comp in reason 3 is good enough. Compression is about practice and using your ears, there is no universal setting that will be right for every track.

when playing a piano a cadence is a few notes u put inbetween chord changes to make them sound smoother (as far as i understand), so i'm assuming that when talkin bout snares its prolly the grace notes you need.
