Its not about how you make it, its about what you make. with this plug in you're not making *anything* because you're just using loops and samples prepared by someone else and their concept of what "minimal" or techno means. what you're saying is true to an extent. but to me that statemen...

personally, i prefer some grit, so i'll use a lower bit rate sample. Adjusting the bit rate is a fantastic effect for snares and high hats alike... i use a plugin on top of the shakers sometimes to achieve this. In terms of filters a parametric eq works fine. something like an Emax works for me. or...

Mills is not only an amazing DJ but he was *way* ahead of everyone else in the early 90's when it came to producing Techno. I don't think a lot of people could touch what he was doing back then.

yup Korg M1 as heard here http://www.synthmania.com/Audio%20Files/Famous%20Sounds/Ride%20on%20Time.mp3 yeah but dude the M1 didn't come out till '88. "Move Your Body" came out in like '86. most of the classic Chicago house tracks (Marshall Jefferson, etc.) came out a few years before '88....
