i will tell you that the esx is good but it is just a sampler and the emx is the synth with sampled parts. the elektron has both. but it doesn't have the tubes to warm up the low end sound. if your sitting right in front of them you won't get the bass response you are looking for. stand back about 6-8 feet you should feel the bass there. if you are using headphones you will get the feeling of the bass extension becasue the headphone cones are small so it takes less time to get bass to ...

so i just got my Machinedrum in the mail and haven't put it down. I was going to get the lesser and get an ESX-1 but opted for the UW with the turbo midi for downloading the samples straight in the machine. I like the Korg boxes and the way they sound but im going to love getting deep in the Machine...
