as far as i know ... ableton live is already compatible with dual core, but for the moment only for mac.
version 6 will be able to handle dual core also on pc, it is planned for the end of the sommer.
i'm waiting version 6 to upgrade to a dual core pc...
and i think it is the way to go

i use since years,
but only for drumpatterns or easy/quick loops.
i find the price very fair for what it can do.
i would not produce a whole track on lit,
but have it still installed and use it sometimes....
