i have a jazbase 03. it sounds quality.
the power supplys are a bitch to get hold of as its ac/ac.
havent been using it til i get the £50 the psu costs!
bit of a rip off really.

you could also have different instruments spread across different octaves. i think multisampling is also used when you have an instrument with a tone that changes the harder its played. so velocity layers can be made with a guitar string played lightly then hard. there is change of harmonic frequenc...
