Those brittle percussive sounds, more often than not, are pitched-up analogue percussion sounds.

Specifically, 808 toms and claves.

The cowbell pitched down makes a nice synth.

Also, try some physical modelling synths such as lounge lizard.

but if you design your sound good you can get any sound you like . thats what i think. like their are secrets vst. people who ask like how do you get that drums like gaiser does etc. isnt that bullshit.... its not a vst its the producer who creates it with creativity. sorry for crappy english hehe ...

Well say you want your snare your kick, bassline and lead synth to filter down at a certain point in your track. Instead of putting a filter on each channel and automating all of them Youy can use a send channel comnnected to those instruments. Saves alot of cpu. is there any way to do this in Live...

There are some uses for compression on sends. It's quite common, for instance, to put a compressor on a send then mix the heavily compressed signal back in with the uncompressed. Works well on drums. There's a name for this technique but I forget what it is.
