soulful tune :
electronic soul
Re: electronic soul
another one I can think of is :
Alex Cortex - PS-LL-11 (Bad Cop Bad Cop Remix)
Unfortunately not to be found on youtube.
A whole different kind of soulful to me, a lot more straight up techno, but yet it still touches something
http://www.discogs.com/Alex-Cortex-Lopa ... se/1285141
obviously there are many tracks, but those were the first two that spontaniously popped into my head at 6AM.
love Acid Eiffel, evergreen in electronic music-country
and yeah, they don't make albums like "Leftism" anymore.
God I must have smoked tons of pot on that album back in my univ years...

Re: electronic soul
yep, Ilar makes wonderful things.
I love how in September Nights, he kind of introduces the lead melody by taking up the bass notes untill they're almost in the reach of the lead, and then he brings in the lead, and takes the bass gently back down to its normal territory.
It's almost like he's handing over the melody, you know ?

I love how they take out the whole wall of sound at the break, leaving you with pretty much the pure loop somewhere after the 4:00 mark...
Re: electronic soul
this is the most techno soul i've heard in a long, long while. Makes me think of the future.
Re: electronic soul
[red wine + computer-disclaimer]
the issue of the 303 and its soul hasnt left me and ive been thinking a lot about it... since the last time this topic was active ive had the chance to play with a real 303, a bass bot tt-303 clone and ive heard a proper live act with a 303 (andreas tilliander, the night before the tm-404 premier)
its funny how a piece of gear can age like a wine, what with the circuits of the 303 ageing and giving it its soul, compaired to the tt-303 which's filter behaved sounded in a totally different way at peak env mod and cutoff/res. The clone's sound was so much more strict and sterile, but also "scientific". The same goes for the analogue4, which has the same filter circuit as the 303 for its filter1 - nice and analogue as it sounds it still sounds manufactured in a way that the 303 doesn't.
At the moment I'm inclined to go for a tabula rasa kind of explanation; that soul is something that can grow out of anything, given time to do so.
