[Connaisseur005] Ripperton pres. Rayon - Folks & Flakes

Post by Connaisseur »

Hello everybody!

ARTIST: Ripperton presents Rayon
TITLE: Folks & Flakes EP
LABEL: Connaisseur Recordings
CAT.NO.: CNS005-6
RELEASEDATE: April 5th, 2006
STYLE: Neo-Detroit / Emo-House

TRACKS:

-> A1: Folks & Flakes
-> A2: Folks & Flakes (Morning Mix)
-> B1: Traveller
-> B2: Traveller (Nuo Mix)

Raphaël Ripperton from Lausanne started his DJ career in 1997. Among other clubs, he started spinning at the famous Loft Club/ Lausanne in 2001.
In 2003 he produced the winning album of the Diesel U Music Award with “Sounds Natural” by Reasons. In 2005 Ripperton was one of the winning remixers for Laurent Garnier`s “Controlling the House” remix contest. Furthermore he released a record with his project Rayon on Crosstown Rebels, which was used by Damian Lazarus for his compilation “Suck My Deck” and by Carl Craig on the Fabric Mix 25.
Today, apart from his Rayon project, he is working on a project called Lazy Fat People, together with Mirko Loko, which will be released on James Holden’s famous Border Community label, beginning of 2006.

Folks & Flakes is the first track on this 12” and a genuine “10 o’clock in the morning hymn”. It starts with clonky sounds and a hypnotic rhythm until a melancholic string theme slowly builds up, leading to a massive burst of emotion. This track is the perfect intersection between classic Carl Craigish soundscapes and up to date Border Community style and will definitely enchant early morning performers all around the globe.

Folks & Flakes (Morning Mix) is a short edit of the original track; the focus of the beautiful and melancholic string theme is an almighty slow-motion deepness.

Traveller is the flipside and definitely more peak time orientated. With its slight Emo-House touch and its hypno-melodic sound engineering, it will surely cause a rumble on all floors from Abu Dhabi to Zurich.

Traveller (Nuo Mix) is also a short edit of the original track. The Nuo Mix is a nice tool for the skill- and tasteful DJ.

Coming up next :
CNS003-6 Markus Müller – Chateaubriand (incl. Mariel Ito Rmx)
CNS006-6 Mariel Ito – Decrypter EP (incl. 3 Channels Rmx)

it seams like, you guys are not intested in winning a record. if we don't get over 18 participants, this will be last time i do a raffle on this board.

sorry...
