Hi guys!
Just want to apologize for my English is not very good)
It has long been studying this forum and so I decided to create a topic.
I earned $ 4000 and I'm going to spend it for my home studio.
I find it difficult to determine, it would be better to buy. Please help me.
Now I have monitors Neumann KH 120, and really like it.
I have a sound card RME 400 and qualitatively stable without any problems.
Tell me please, it would be better now that I buy, an analog synthesizer (I dream of Moog Voyager), something of mastering devices (fatso or anything else) or can be UAD with plug-ins ))? What would you buy?
How to spend money right?
Maybe someone my topic seems silly. I'm sorry. =)
Thank you!
I love this forum!! EE!!

Some nice modular stuff.

you have the essentials computer/soundcard/monitors! awesome.... so whats next?
Buy stuff that you cannot achieve in the box. and stuff you have room for...
+1 on the modular i think. Something with analogue tone generator and filters for sure! Also, for the money get a juno 6 or 60 106 too for something polyphonic.
I think most of the mastering/mixing can really be achieved in the box. So you could spend money on plugins for this if you haven't pirated things already.
what kind of music do you want to make?

i would go for something to record. small modular system or a good synth.
after that a good analog fx unit (moogerfooger for example) if needed or a good compressor. for 2 bus and/or tracking. maybe a real api 2500 compressor.
in generally instead of the fatso i would get a culture vulture and an elysia xpressor/tk audio bc mk2 or something in that pricerange for more flexibillity.
anyway test that stuff somewhere before you buy.

Re: has accumulated $ 4,000 =) which hardware to buy?
maybe the most important question the OP should be asking himself is :
how do I prefer to work ?
and then he could decide what to do with that money.
there's so many ways to do this thing.
you can use hardware for mixing and mastering or do it in the box.
you can use softsynths or hardware synths.
you can use modular.
...
all of us will probably be advising the guy whatever we prefer, but it's him that has to use it, no ?
I don't mean to sound rude, but if you have 4000$ and make music,
and you're not sure on what you should spend this, then I think you might not have enough mileage yet to make a proper decision and have a big chance of making a wrong one (and in doing so losing a lot of money).
if I were you mr ezz, I would only use maximum half that money for now,
and see how it goes with whatever you have bought.
there ain't no "buy this and you'll make great music" kind of advice,
and since there are many ways of doing this, it's important that you should discover which way works best for you.
so, maybe consider how you prefer to work, and then look at the available options suggested.

Room treatment. Not very sexy but it really helps.
