We Love Katamari

had a go on the demo of this game last week... (PS2)

Its a bizarrely japanese game, all bright colours and 'super joy happy points' in style... the object of the game is to roll a ball around picking things up as you go, the bigger your ball gets, the more stuff you can stick to it (ball picks up anything smaller than itself)

after a little rolling you soon get the katamari to a size big enough to go rolling up large items of furniture, and can chase people and laugh mercilessly as you accrue them into your heap and watch their legs flail around as you continue to roll...

a genius game... and the most fun I've had with my clothes on, well, possibly ever...

im severely addicted to this game!

i wake up all the time with the theme music (which is awesome) in my head.
i've collected almost all of the presents & cousins now.
one more cousin, and the secret rose level opens. oh man!

Looks well neat - I love games like that, reminds me of an old Spectrum game where u had to roll around - was 3d vector stylee - cool as a badgers fanny. can't remember wot is was called tho.

I love Katamari!

The first game in the series, Katamari Damacy is maybe a bit better. Definitely get it if you don't already have it.

haha i thought on this game and my enjoyment of it before; and comparing it to minimal tech music. its seemingly quite simple and basic, but after spending some time with it, reveals its hidden intricacies and charm, really cool game.
