Alternatives to Beatport guys?

Post by spage »

Guys, I have for a while been favouring Beatport over most online mp3 shops, however, since their recentish change I have gone right off of them and feel that I'd like to spend my hard earned cash elsewhere. The only other sites I actully use are www.stompy.com for the more jackin west coast house sounds and nu-disco / slo-mo house and occasionally www.junodownload.co.uk

Can anyone recommend some good reliable nice to navigate sites that I caa investigate as I think Beatport won't be getting much more of my money in the future, there seems to be so mnay glitches etc STILL - Especially with regard to their new audio playback system at the top of the page.

I enjoy a lot of deep / tech / techno / tribal / house sounds.

My first pick will be http://www.digital-tunes.net/ - cheapest store I know. Mp3's and wav's/flac's have the same price.

If I don't find what I'm looking for on dt I usually go to stompy or to http://www.whatpeopleplay.com/ (stompy is cheaper :) )

And, occasionally, junodownload and http://www.traxsource.com/.

I don't use beatport... It seems they don't want my money :).

SO ANNOYING.

The old site is messed up, the new one keeps giving me "OOPS! The page you're looking for couldn't be found" bullshit.

True story.

Just so you know, Beatport has an option to switch to the old format. It´s a horizontal bar in the upper part of the screen that says :'Not ready for change?Click here to go back to the Flash website or go to http://flash.beatport.com at anytime.'

To be honest I don't keep very close track of things but not long ago I did a price comparison of prices for downloadable content and generally prices from Juno were 35% cheaper than Beatport for older tracks. I was mostly picking random tracks that were older so I can't say that the say pronouncement will stand for new releases but as the label "new" only lasts so long... if you are interested in the latest releases just give it some time. It will probably be less time than you expect. Things move fast these days.
