Hey guys I'm looking for small bassline synths. I'd like to go get an sh-101 but its too big. Maybe an MC-202 would be more portable...
The Tetra and Mopho are the most compact modern ones I know of. but i find their envelopes to be quite noisy in certain situations.
Any other contenders?

Vermona Mono Lancet, small compact, cheap
Filter can sound either moogish, or very acidic, plus de-tuning the second oscillator can give some very good results.
I can send you some sound examples if you want

Waldorf Pulse Plus if you don't mind a rack unit. Awesome synth, esp. for bass. ( The Plus version has an inbuilt Midi/CV converter too )
Re: small analog bassline synths...
opuswerk, i would love to hear them. or send me links to a couple tracks where its featured as the bassline.
What i find with the DSI tetra as soon as i start going in the lower ranges, the sub oscilator starts to sound grainy and envelopes just turn to sh!t. The filters sound nothing like the moog or even Juno. I have gotten good sounds out of it but I'm thinking I can do more with a specific synth.
another for the list...
Doepfer Dark Energy

Probably too big... :/ and from the youtube videos it sounds a lot like the tetra in regards to the flakeyness in the low basslines. But it like the tetra it does have a unique sound and there is something awesomely powerful about it. I'm looking for something is fairly smooth.

would be cool for the studio! but still really need something portable. just watched a couple vids and it sounds a bit like the tetra but much smoother filter to me.(which i very much like)AK wrote:Waldorf Pulse Plus if you don't mind a rack unit. Oberheim SEM - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ze0O29O ... re=related - do you mean this one, hydrogen? is it just me but from the demos this sounds very cheesy to me, would prefer the dark energy any day (again judging only by demos).
